Islamabad : A scholarship awarding ceremony of under-graduate students for the session 2020-21 was held at Islamabad Model College for Girls (Postgraduate), F-7/4, says a press release.
The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by ‘Naat’. To proceed with the function, a brief history of the origin and continuity of ‘Dr Azra Raza Award’ and ‘Hamid Alvi Award’ at the college with the efforts of Professor Qaisra Mukhtar Alvi, former Principal was presented.
Keeping the tradition, ‘Azra Raza Award’ of Rs50,000 and ‘Hamid Alvi Award’ of Rs10,000 were presented by Professor Qaisra Alvi to Tabinda Rafique from Mass Communication and Nabiha Hassan of B.A respectively. The scholarship amounting Rs4,000 each was given away by the college to 13 students of both ADP and BS Programmes for their remarkable academic performance.
On this occasion, Prof. Qaisra Mukhtar Alvi urged the participants to stay in touch with literature for a better understanding of mankind. Principal of the college, Professor Sualeha Jabeen thanked the participants and guests and congratulated the students on their outstanding achievements. The ceremony ended with national anthem.
