TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir police and security agencies on Wednesday foiled a terror bid and arrested a militant in a joint intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Gul Dherai Gumbat Killay in Maidan, police said.
In an official communique released from the office of District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Dir Captain (Rd) Liaquat Ali Malik, the militant, Dost Muhammad, was arrested in a joint operation.
The communique said that the police also recovered four mortar shells of 82 mm, 6 booster RPG-7, one magazine of bren gun 7.62×54 mm, one HMG barrel, 44 bullets 12.7mm, 82 HMG bullets, 103 meters safety fuse, high explosives 13 kg, one suicide jacket weighing 8kg, six timers, two remote control, one hand blower, 12 kg iron pieces used in bomb making, 10 meter electric wire and one iron tank on the information of the militant.
Three sons of the arrested militant, including Bunir Gul, Gulab Khan and Amanullah had been killed during various s operations against militants in 2013, 2015 and 2019, respectively, it added.
