Nargis Sethi, Ahmad Farooq designated FPSC members
ISLAMABAD: Ms. Nargis Sethi, former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister (PSPM), and Ahmad Farooq, former Secretary to the President, have been designated to become members of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) of Pakistan.
Another former federal secretary Chaudhry Hasan Nawaz Tarrar has also been tipped to become the member of the commission but his nomination has yet to be approved by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Highly placed sources in the federal government told The News that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had approved nomination of Ms. Nargis Sethi and Ahmad Farooq who are known for their uprightness and would be replacing Mrs. Batool Iqbal Qureshi and Abdul Wajid Rana.
Sethi was recalled by her prime minister as the ‘Iron Lady.’ Mrs. Qureshi will be retiring on Friday next (December 18) while Abdul Wajid will be relinquishing the membership in February next.
Yet another member of the commission, Muhammad Ayub Qazi, who also served as PSPM, would be retiring in March. He is currently in the United States on a private visit.
Meanwhile, sources said Chairman FPSC Naveed Akram Cheema had decided to introduce reforms in the commission that will expedite the process of disposal of cases concerning the candidates for various jobs.
