PESHAWAR: Inamullah Khan Gandapur, an Additional Secretary in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking suo motu action in the murder case of his brother and former provincial law minister Israrullah Khan Gandapur.
“I am requesting Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu action in the murder case of my brother, who was martyred along with six other persons in a suicide attack on Eidul Azha at his Hujra in tehsil Kulachi of Dera Ismail Khan on October 16, 2013,” Inamullah Gandapur stated in the application. Up to 13 persons were also injured in the suicide attack.
The application mentioned that the first information report (FIR) was lodged against unknown people for carrying out the attack. He noted that rumours spread even before the funeral of his brother that Israrullah Gandapur could never have been the target of terrorists.
Ikramullah Gandapur claimed in the application that most probably someone amongst the political stakeholders may have targeted his brother in a way that it could be taken as another act of terrorism carried out by the defunct Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
In the application submitted to the Supreme Court, he stated that before the first death anniversary of his brother, the ISI Counter-Terrorism Wing, Dera Ismail Khan’s special team headed by Col. Nasir and Major Adeel and having Aslam, Qaiser Masood, Shaukat and Iqbal as members in a daring operation captured a Taliban commander Abdul Rehman alias Doctor from Darazinda area on September 20, 2014.
The applicant claimed that it has been reliably learnt through authentic sources that during the course of initial interrogation the captured militant made startling revelations with regard to the martyrdom of Israrullah Khan Gandapur.
“It was learnt that the TTP militant Abdul Rehman categorically named a sitting minister of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to be behind the plot to kill Israrullah Gandapur,” wrote Inamullah Gandapur in his application.
“The statement of TTP militant is available on a video tape with ISI Counter-Terrorism Wing,” Ikramullah Gandapur claimed in the application. He lamented that the entire PTI leadership is least bothered about taking any action against what he called an established terrorist in the garb of minister. Besides, he said, the PTI leadership attitude towards him was highly inconsiderate, cold and callous.
Ikramullah Gandapur stated that after lot of appeals and cries, a toothless Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was constituted under the Additional IG Investigation KP in July 2015. “It is just beating about the bush and nothing else,” he remarked.
He submitted before the Chief Justice of Pakistan that he has no faith in the government of KP and federal governments. He appealed to him to take suo motu action and help a devastated elderly mother, a widow, two orphaned children and their highly grief stricken family.
