BUREWALA: A debating contest was held at Divisional Public School, Burewala, on the topic of ‘Social deprivation causes crime’ on Tuesday.
Assistant Commissioner Saifullah Sajid, DSP Zulfiqar Ali Sandrana were chief guests on the occasion. Government Postgraduate College Burewala Vice Principal Prof Rashid Sidho, Prof Muhammad Imran and DPS Burewala head of English Department Miss Saima Altaf discharged the duty of judges of the contest.
The PPD was divided in three houses and each one was represented by a team of four debaters; two boys and two girls each and they were given three minutes to express their point of view.
Muhammad Taimoor, Sharqa Fatima, Sara Fatima, Usama Ahmad (Jinnah House); Ghulam Mohiuddin, Abdul Kareem Ahsan, Tahseen Afzal, Ayesha Abubakar (Dewan House); Muhammad Ahmad, Rida Ahmad, Hunfa Fatima, Muaz Ahmad (Iqbal House) teams took part in the contest.
The judges declared Iqbal House winner of the contest while at individual level Rida Ahmad (Iqbal House) took first, Muaz Ahmad (Iqbal House) second and Hunfa Fatima (Iqbal House) got third position.
At the end of the contest, the winners were awarded with certificates and trophy. Parents and others were also present.
