Kidnapping bid foiled, two arrested

BANNU: The police claimed to have foiled a kidnapping bid and arrested two alleged kidnappers along with weapons on Thursday.The police said that District Police Officer Yasir Afridi was informed that five armed kidnappers were attempting to kidnap Abdul Basitur Rahman, a resident of Bannu city. They said the DPO immediately formed teams led by Station House Officers Asmatullah and Tariq Khan of City and Cantt police stations, respectively, to apprehend kidnappers.The police teams conducted raids at various places and arrested two alleged kidnappers identified as Shan and Zaman. A Kalashnikov rifle, pistol and a repeaters and cartridges were also seized from them. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
