Customs seizes Rs94 million smuggled goods
The Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of MCC Preventive, Pakistan Customs, Karachi, expedited its campaign against smuggling and seized a huge quantity of goods on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson, in the ongoing operation, customs officials have seized smuggled goods worth millions of rupees. During a raid on a warehouse in Bolton Market, Burnes Road, a team seized a huge quantity of smuggled cigarettes and Indian Pan Parag. The cigarettes included Benson & Hedges 20,000 dandas valued at around Rs40 million, Brass 5,000 dandas worth Rs5,000,000, Tazz 2,500 dandas valued at Rs2,500,000, Dunhil 5,000 dandas valued at Rs10 million, Chinese flavoured cigarettes 10,000 dandas worth Rs15 million, King Edward cigars 20 cartons valuing at Rs1 million and gutka and paan Ras 10,000 packets valued at Rs21 million. The quantity of cigarettes is 42,500 dandas worth Rs72.5 million, 20 cartons of Cigars worth Rs1 million and gutka 10,000 packets worth Rs21 million. However, the total value of the seized goods is Rs94.5 million.
