Personnel of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized narcotics, including heroin, worth Rs7 billion, said a spokesman for the force on Saturday.
The spokesman said an ANF team at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Karachi, intercepted a container no MEDU5354822 containing soap stone as cover load destined to Antwerp, Belgium.
During a thorough examination of the cargo, 700 kilograms of heroin and 80 kilograms of opium were found cleverly concealed.
The exporter was named as Al Razi Trader, Shop No 17, Near Police Station, Farid Town, Sahiwal, and the consignee was identified as, PROTUTEX TRADING, Belgium, while the clearing agent was Al Noor Shipper.
The approximate price of the drugs in international market is Rs7 billion. Further investigations are underway.
