Youth urged to donate blood for thalassaemia patients
Islamabad : President Arif Alvi has appealed the youth to come forward and donate blood to treat thalassaemia patients in the testing times of coronavirus outbreak.
He was speaking at a ceremony, after visiting Thalassemia Centre at F-9 Park in Islamabad.
The president said problems for children suffering from thalassemia have become manifolds in the wake of closure of the public transport due to Coronavirus crisis.
He said he has advised all the provincial governments and other relevant agencies to look for donors to facilitate Thalassemia patients as they frequently need blood transfusion.
Dr Alvi further urged blood donors to visit the blood donation centres and give blood to save Thalassemia patients. On the occasion, he also talked to the children suffering from Thalassemia and distributed gifts among them.
