Over 300,000 apply for Corona Relief Tiger Force
ISLAMABAD: The number of Corona Relief Tiger Force has crossed 300,000 mark Thursday with 8,310 females also registered to be part of it to provide relief to weak segments of the society, affected by coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Over 339,144 have registered themselves and of these, 330,531 are males, 8310 are females and 301 have been marked as others on the Citizens Portal and Control Room has been set up for this purpose at the Prime Minister Office.
Reflecting its population size, Punjab is in apparently insurmountable lead with 234,022 members and of these, 227,691 are males and 6,128 are females while 203 are others. Sindh is second with 50,616 members and of these 49,156 are males, 1,414 females and 44 others.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is third in terms of its total number of youth registered with 41,890 members with 41,420 males, only 423 females and 47 others.
Islamabad Capital Territory has registered total of 5,233 members with 5,039 males, 190 females and four others. As many as 3,229 have been registered from AJK with 3,123 males, 103 females and three others, followed by Balochistan with 3,013 members, 2,977 males, 36 females while none joined from ‘others’.
From Gilgit-Baltistan a total of 1,141 registered themselves as tigers and of these 1,125 are males, 16 females and no one from others joined the force.
Registration of Prime Minister's Tigers Force on Prime Minister's Citizen Portal formally opened the other day for youth across the country.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the youth to join Corona Relief Tigers Force and support the government in its endeavours to fight coronavirus pandemic effectively.
Following the announcement by Prime Minister Imran Khan about the formation of a special volunteer force, the Youth Affairs Ministry Saturday announced that registration for Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘Corona Relief Tigers’ youth team will start from March 31.
According to the ministry, citizens would be able to volunteer for the force through the PM Office portal by filling out a digital form.
