CHITRAL: Fatihul Mulk Nasir, the Mehtar of Chitral, has married into a prominent family of Mansehra.
His wife is the niece of former provincial minister Shahzada Gustasip Khan hailing from the Khankhel family of Mansehra.
The Mehtar used to be the ruler of Chitral belonging to the princely family until the 1969 merger of the state into Pakistan. The title of Mehtar was hereditary and many Chitralis still have an attachment with the royal family. The walima of Fatihul Mulk Nasir was held in Chitral city on Saturday.
The wedding party, which reached Chitral from Islamabad Friday evening, was warmly received by people of Chitral.
The people had gathered at various points on the road from Drosh to Chitral city to welcome the wedding procession.
A contingent of Chitral Scouts presented salute to the wedding party at Mirkhani.
Thousands of people were present to receive the wedding procession at the main entrance to the fort known as Shahi Qila.
All the people of Chital district have been invited to the walima of the Mehtar. The royal feast would continue for four days.
