Shaukat, Fakhar elected PFB chairman, president respectively
LAHORE: Shaukat Javed and Syed Fakhar Ali Shah were unanimously elected as Chairman and President of Pakistan Federation Baseball here on Sunday.
PFB’s elective general council meeting was held here at the Bahria Cricket Stadium, Lahore under the supervision of Shaukat Javed, Chairman PFB and was attended by Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed, Fauzia Abbas (Punjab), Haider Khan Lehri, Atif Ahmed, Zahra Ghulam Nabi (Balochistan), Shahab Wasal, Muhammad Waseem, Aisha Kiran (Khyber Pakhtonkhaw), Muhammad Mohsin Khan, Perwaiz Ahmed Sheikh, Soha Fatima (Sindh), Tahir Mahmood, Saiqa Riaz (Islamabad), Muhammad Jamil Kamran (Umpiring Association), Mussadiq Hanif (Coaching Association), Sadia Alvi, Aisha Irum, Hummaira Mughal and Ann Fatima (Women Wing) attended the meeting, while Arshad Sattar as a representative of the Pakistan Olympic Association.
The house offered fateha for former President and Founder of Baseball in Pakistan Syed Khawar Shah (Late). Afterwards the house unanimously approved the last minutes of the Meeting. And unanimously elected the members of executive committee for the next 4 years, including Shaukat Javed (Chairman), Syed Fakhar Ali Shah (President), Muhammad Mohsin Khan (Senior Vice President), Haider Khan Lehri, Muhammad Hamood Lakhvi, Iftikhar Ahmed Asim, Dr Noman-ul-Haq (Vice Presidents), Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed (Secretary General), Tahir Mahmood (Treasurer), Mussadiq Hanif, Muhammad Jamil Kamran, Tariq Nadeem (Male Members At Large), Miss Sadia Alvi, Miss Aisha Irum, Miss Hummaira Mughal and Miss Ann Fatima (Female Members at Large).
After the election, Shaukat Javed and members of the General Council congratulated the newly elected members on their success.After the election, President Syed Fakhr Ali Shah and Secretary General Sheikh Mazhar Ahmed thanked the General Council. Representatives of the departments who attended the meeting included Ihtisham ul Haq (WAPDA), Kamran Mehboob (Army), Mumtaz Shah (Police), Tariq Mehmood (Railways) and Tahir Hussain (Gilgit Baltistan).
The President presented baseball activities report and informed about the participation and performance of Pakistan’s teams in the International Baseball Tournament played in 2018-19.On request of the Sindh Baseball Association, the House approves the 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship in Sindh in April.
On request of Multan Baseball Association to hold National Men’s Baseball Championship in Multan, the decision will be taken in the next Executive Committee Meeting.The House also approved the participation of the Pakistan U-12 and U-18 teams in the Asian U-12 Baseball Championship and the Asian U-18 Baseball Championship 2020.
