Man hammers wife to death

LAHORE:A man killed his with a hammer on suspicion of practicing black magic in the limits Chung police area on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Maryam, 55, wife of Noor Muhammad, 65. The accused found his wife indulged in practicing black magic and warned her to refrai from such evil acts. His wife did not heed to his warnings.

On the day of the incident, the accused had an exchange of harsh words with her over the issue and later hammered her to death. The victim, mother of five children, was the second wife of the accused. Police removed the body to morgue and registered a case against the murderer who was still at large.

accident: A 40-year-old man was killed and four others sustained injuries in a collision between a truck and a van at Rachna Town on Wednesday. The victim has been identified as Yousaf. Rescuers removed the injured to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The injured have been identified as Ghulam Ishaq, 30, son of Sagheer; Amanat Ali, 60, son of Sadiq Ali; Alyas, 35, son of Sardar, and Imran, 20, son of Javed.
