Death anniversary of Arfa Karim on 14th
FAISALABAD: The 8th death anniversary of youngest Microsoft Certified Professional Arfa Karim Randhawa will be observed here on January 14.
The Quran Khawani will be held at Arfa Karim Nagar to pay rich homage to the efforts of the deceased. A large number of people from civil society besides her family members and relatives will participate in the Quran Khawani. Arfa Karim at the age of 16 had achieved Fatima Jinnah gold medal, Salam Pakistan youth award, Presidential Pride of Performance. She died on January 14, 2012.
Power shutdown notice: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) released power shutdown schedule in connection with repair, maintenance and expansion of electric lines for January 11 and 12. According to the schedule, the electricity will remain suspended from 9am to 5 pm from Sereena feeder emanating from 132KV university grid station.
The electricity will also remain suspended from 9am to 1pm form Khalid feeder emanating from 132KV Mureedwala grid station, model city feeder emanating from 66KV old thermal grid station, Amin Town feeder emanating from 132KV old thermal grid station, new Amin Town, Malipur Road, Jhumra Road, Zia Town, Lyallpur Galleria, Mobilink, Saeed Colony and Madni feedeers emanating fron 132KV Steem power grid station. The power will remain suspended from 9am to 5 pm from FIEDMC and Cars Paint feeders emanating from 132 KV FIEDMC grid station. On January 12, power shutdown schedule will be observed from 9am to 1pm from new Awagat feeder emanating from 132KV Jarranwala grid station.
Traffic awareness seminar held: City Traffic Police organised a traffic awareness seminar at National Textile University Faisalabad here on Friday.Chief Traffic Officer Sardar Asif, faculty and a large number of students attended the moot. Addressing the moot, the CTO said awareness about traffic laws was imperative for everyone. He said students must cooperate with traffic police and abide by the traffic laws especially traffic signals, line and lane, wear helmets while driving motorcycles, speed limit should be controlled. He said traffic education unit was holding seminar, walks, and workshops at schools, colleges, universities and transport stands for providing awareness to general public as well as drivers about traffic rules.
donation: Patient Welfare Society (PWS) Friday donated medical instruments costing Rs 1 million for the children ward of Allied hospital. The instruments included cardiac monitors, Baby Warmer lamp and Plus Ogsi meters. President Patient Welfare Society Dr Jaffar Hassan Mubarak handed over the medical instruments to Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Faheem Yousaf. Prof Dr Hina Ayesha and other doctors and members of the society were present on the occasion.
