Moot approves environmental policy
LAHORE :A conference on environment held under the auspices of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has approved an environmental policy titled “Clean, Transparent and Green Punjab.” An NGO under the leadership of PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi aims at creating environmental awareness among the people particularly the youths.
This was stated by a leader of the NGO, Rizwan Mumtaz Ali, in the first session of the conference. As many as 150 delegates belonging to PML-Q from all 36 districts of Punjab are attending the moot, which would be attended by
Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on its session day as its chief guest. The environmental policy presented by Rizwan Mumtaz Ali titled “Clean, Transparent and Green Punjab” was approved by all the participants. They also recommended its inclusion in the party’s manifesto. Punjab Environment Minister Bao Muhammad Rizwan, chief guest of the event, apprised the participants of the environmental-friendly policies and they measures taken by the provincial government.
He said PML-Q was the only political party of the country which had a clear point of view about climate change and environment. It has been running an effective movement in this regard for the last 8 years, he added. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had also made environment his first priority..
