December 12, 2019

A young woman was shot dead in the Jamshed Quarters area allegedly by her brother for marrying of her own free will.

Nayab, 24, wife of Yousuf Kamal, was gunned down within the Jamshed Quarters police’s remits. The incident took place on Wednesday evening inside a house situated on Nishter Road near the Filmistan Cinema.

Jamshed Quarters SHO Liaquat said responding to the information, police mobiles rushed to the house where they found a young woman lying critically wounded. She was shifted to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

During investigations, it was found that Nayab hailed from Charsadda in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and had shifted to Karachi around seven to eight years ago after married Kamal. She was the mother of a boy and a girl.

The SHO explained that as Nayab’s brother located her, he arrived at the house and had a hot hot conversation with her, after which he shot her and fled. The police have registered an FIR and are searching for the suspect.
