Film review: ‘The Climbers’
Feature film ‘The Climbers’ from China came out this week and is now playing nationwide.
The film introduces us to Chinese climbers who are to climb Mount Everest at 8,000 plus meters. We meet most of ‘The Climbers’ at the beginning. This expedition to Everest brings two generations from 1960 and 1975. The script is based on real life account in a true-life adventure with hardships and trials, rarely seen on screen in recent years. The expedition is tough and life-wrecking with extreme weather carrying tons of snow, nighttime storms and of course avalanches. All this is filmed courageously with flourishing action, fast and smooth editing and impressive sound design and plenty of computer generated effects.
