MULTAN: An election tribunal on Friday disqualified PML-N MNA Muhammad Arif Chaudhry of Okara in a fake degree case. The election tribunal headed by Justice Rana Zahid Mehmood (retd) declared the MNA disqualified after hearing arguments from both sides. Arif Chaudhry had won the 2013 general elections from NA-144. He secured 105,162 votes. The rival candidate, Fayyaz Ghauri, who secured 1,448 votes, had challenged the intermediate degree of Arif Chaudhry. Okara correspondent adds: The disqualified MNA Muhammad Arif Chaudhry said that he would file an appeal against the decision of the election tribunal in the Supreme Court.
