‘Minorities rights being protected’
PESHAWAR: Governor Shah Farman said on Wednesday the government was taking practical steps to protect minorities’ rights and their places of worship.
He expressed these views in a meeting with the minority’s parliamentarians, including Member National Assembly Jamshed Thomas and MPA Wilson Wazir who called on him here at the Governor’s House. The political situation and administrative affairs were discussed in the meeting, said an official handout.
The minority’s lawmakers expressed confidence in the steps taken by the government for the welfare of the minorities. The governor said the Constitution ensures equal rights for minorities living in the country and all communities are enjoying equal rights.
Referring to opening of Kartarpur Corridor, the governor said the initiative had improved the image of Pakistan across the globe in the context of government pragmatic measures for rights of the minorities.
