Two trains derail at Muzaffargarh railway station

MUZAFFARGARH: A passenger train and a cargo train derailed in separate incidents at the Muzaffargarh Railway Station.
Divisional Superintendent Railways Shahrukh Khan said that the cargo train carrying oil was on its way when it derailed at the railway station. In another incident, Mehr Express was going to Multan from Rawalpindi when its five bogies derailed at the railway station. No one was injured in the incidents. District Coordination Officer Hafiz Shaukat Ali arranged private transport to send the passengers to their destinations. Meanwhile, the railways general manager has ordered an inquiry into the incidents.
Hitman killed in police encounter

MUZAFFARGARH: A hitman was killed in an encounter with police at Jatoi on Monday.
The hitman, Abid Kulachi, had killed Fahim Ahmad, the only brother of five sisters, during a dacoity last year. On the day of the incident, Abid along with his seven accomplices entered the house of Fahim’s relatives Sikandar Saleem and Nasir Adnan to kill the complainant of the murder case but they resisted. It infuriated the criminals and they injured them and escaped. On information, police reached the spot and started chasing the criminals. On seeing police, the criminals opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, Abid Kulachi was injured seriously while his accomplices managed to escape. The injured criminal died when he was being shifted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan. Jatoi police have registered a case. Meanwhile, the DPO said that Abid Kulachi was a hitman, who was involved in a number of murder and other cases.
