Man held for killing wife for ‘honour’
Police investigating the murder of a newly-wed woman have arrested her husband for allegedly killing his wife. The Awami Colony police conducted a raid on a tip-off at a railway station in Quaidabad and arrested Nadeem.
According to Korangi SSP Syed Ali Raza, the suspect was arrested when he was trying to leave the city. During the initial interrogation, Nadeem admitted murdering his wife and said that he killed her in the name of honour.
A 22-year-old, Seema, was strangled to death in Awami Colony on Sunday. Police officials said that she was found dead near Model Park in Korangi No. 5 within the limits of the Awami Colony police station.
The police said the woman had a family dispute with her husband and left his house. They added that Nadeem had called her at the park to sort out the issue between them, but he strangled her after the two failed to reconcile.
