Good deeds must be matched with words: Shehryar Afridi
Islamabad : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan in the presence of Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi signed a memorandum of understanding at thalassaemia centre being run by Sundas Foundation.
A historical event was held at thalassaemia centre F-9 Park, Islamabad. Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi was the chief guest.
This event was graced by DIG (Security) Waqar Ahmad Chauhan, DIG (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed, SSP (Headquarters) Irfan Tariq, AIG (Operations) Dr. Sardar Ghias Gul, SP (Headquarters) Muhammad Amir Khan Niazi, SP (City) and SP (Rural) along with other senior officers. This event was organized by patron in chief legend artist Mr. Sohail Warraich and Khalid Abbas Dar. Chief Administrative officer Aftab Hussain (Air vice marshal (r) and SP Headquarter Aamir Khan Niazi were the organisers.
As far as importance of this event is concerned, it is pertinent to maintain that MOS for Interior and IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan donated blood units for thalassaemia patients. Besides that large number of ICT Police officials also donated blood for the undergoing 330 thalassaemia patients.
During the event MOS for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi expressed highest gratitude to IGP Islamabad as his initiatives are driving force for not only Islamabad but for the whole country. He said that IGP Islamabad initiatives are being proved as catalyst in mobilizing educational institutions and civil armed forces for blood collection from the next week onward. He further maintained that he would take up this issue at both the houses, i.e. upper and lower house for proper legislation. He prayed to Allah for feeling the pain of the humanity and to be service oriented. He further said that May Allah accept our donation today.
The IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan while addressing the audience said that he is thankful to MOS for Interior for his charismatic and pious approach in materializing all his dreams. The IGP said that being IGP NHMP he had visited Shoukat Khanam thalassaemia centre in Lahore and other such institutions.
He had given blood donation himself by setting an example for his force. He said that by signing this MOU he is feeling highly motivated in initiation of such a noble cause. The IGP announced that soon 350 children of thalassaemia centre would visit police line headquarter and would be provided an opportunity for interaction with Islamabad Police.
Both the legend artists Sohail Warraich and Khalid Abbas Dar highly appreciated for the cooperation extended by Islamabad Police and the MOS for Interior.
