Dream Home Expo concludes on high note
Islamabad: The three-day Dream Home Expo ended on a high note here at the Pak-China Friendship Centre with the organisers insisting that the event catered for both real estate developers and the people on the lookout for home or investment opportunities.
Held for the fifth consecutive year under the auspices of Jang Media Group and featuring more than 100 realty developers, builders and dealers, the expo attracted large crowds of people on its all three days, especially weekend.
The stall holders said they had got a good response from visitors, who not only showed a keen interest in their housing projects but also availed themselves of special discounts on plots, houses, and apartments.
Promising high-quality yet affordable housing to the people, they asked the government to come up with business-friendly rules and policies for the real estate sector to meet the country’s housing needs.
Chaudhry Abdul Rauf of the Fair Deal Marketing appreciated the Jang Media Group for holding the expo and said it benefitted both the realty developers and the common man.
He said if the government facilitated the real estate builders and developers, they would not only follow all rules and regulations but also pay all due taxes and thus, causing the growth of the national economy.
Chaudhry Rauf, who is developing Mayfair Villas in Park View City, Islamabad, said the private sector could help the government translate its five million houses plans into a reality.
He called for the formulation of policies on real estate in consultation with developers and builders for success.
“I push the government for granting the realty sector the status of an industry. Not only will this initiative address house shortages in the country but it will provide investors with the sought-after protection as well,” he said.
Bahria Town Property Dealers Association chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Mushtaq said the country’s major developers and builders offered property buyers and investors attractive packages to suit their needs and pockets.
He said loan, land and tax issues were hampering the growth of the real estate sector and therefore, the government should address them without delay.
Muhammad Shoaib of the Real Time Marketing said the government should facilitate realty developers and builders for economy’s revival.
“We, the people of real estate sector from within the country and abroad, just want a working environment free from red tape, undue taxation, and harassment. If this happens, we assure the government of substantial contribution to the economy for its turnaround,” he said.
The visitors, who belonged to different walks of life, said they consulted stallholders on property buying and building and got really valuable information and guidance.
They said the expo brought the country’s leading builders and developers under one roof providing them with the best housing and investment options, especially in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
During the event’s concluding ceremony, major developers distributed prizes, including cars, to the people, who booked plots or houses in their projects.
