SUKKUR: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the economic policies of Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif are the same and the government made through fraud would face accountability. He lashed out at the PTI-led government on Wednesday, saying the government was conducting NAB Gardi, to victimise the opposition.

He said the party leadership does not fear accountability but it should be across-the-board and not as a vendetta against the opposition. Bilawal was addressing the party workers on Wednesday at Khairpur and Sukkur railway stations when his "Caravan-e-Bhutto" train rally reached there on its way to Larkana. He was warmly welcomed by party workers at both the stations. Addressing the workers from the train, he asked when the accountability of the ‘Benami’ prime minister and his sister Aleema would begin, adding the plunderers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will flee the country whenever the real accountability takes place. He added the anti-graft body’s objective was to help run the "selected governments".

The PPP chairman said those who had wished to eliminate the PPP had themselves been eliminated, adding Islamabad was afraid of the success of his ‘train caravan’. Bilawal said Prime Minister Imran Khan should be rest assured it is not a movement to dismiss his government.

“This is not an anti-government long march and the day we give a call for one, they will come to know the difference between sit-in politics and real politics," he said. He said the caravan-e-Bhutto is to rescue the people from inflation. He said gas and electricity tariffs have been increased and the people are sinking in the tsunami of inflation. He said Niazi was trying to usurp the natural resources of Sindh.

Criticising PM Imran’s election promises, Bilawal asked what happened to all the election pledges. He said due to bad economic management, unemployment is soaring and the youth were roaming jobless. Reminding the prime minister of his pledge not to seek any international aid, Bilawal Bhutto said Imran has gone against his pledge and is begging and collecting funds but he should know the country’s economy cannot be run through fundraising. He said the PTI-led puppet government is now feeling insecure because they are in the government just on the basis of a six-seat majority.

Paying tributes to the founding chairman of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto sacrificed his life, but did not take a U-turn on principles. He said the opponents of the PPP are still afraid of Bhutto’s vision. "We have seen the worst dictatorships of Ayub, Zia and Musharraf and if they could not break us down, we have no reason to be scared of this government." However, he said he wanted to clarify that the PPP workers will always fight the anti-democratic forces.
