GUJRANWALA: Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that cleanliness is an essential part of Islamic teachings and we must do efforts to make tidy our environment and surroundings.
She said this while addressing a seminar held in connection with the Neat and Clean Week at the District Council Hall on Monday. Deputy Commissioner Naila Baqar, ADCG Dr Rabia Riasat, MPA Shaheen Raza and others were also present. Dr Yasmin Rashid said that a neat and clean Pakistan was the target of our government and every person of the society should play role to achieve the purpose. She asked the students of schools and colleges to plant trees at their homes and in their surrounding areas. The minister also inaugurated the cleanliness week by planting a sapling.
She appreciated the efforts of the district administration for removing big heaps of wastage from the city roads. Later, the minister visited the THQ Hospital of Kamoke and inaugurated the Insaf Health Cards scheme. She also inspected different wards and suspended an official Muhammad Usman Shahid for showing bad attitude towards the patients. She said that the government was providing a huge fund for betterment of health facilities at the government hospitals. She directed to make the dialysis unit of the hospital functional in double shift.
