Government taking steps for empowerment of women, says Buzdar
LAHORE: Federal Parliamentary Secretary Andleeb Abbas called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at CM’s office on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Usman Buzdar said, "We are taking measures to provide equal opportunities to women as development targets could only be achieved with their participation in every field.
He said the role of women was very important in economic and social development of the country. The past governments did not take solid measures to give basic rights to women but the incumbent government had included women in the national mainstream. The responsibility of empowering women would be discharged in an effective manner, he maintained. The CM said women of Pakistan were competent and hard working and they have proved their talent in every field of life. Usman Buzdar said, "We want good relations with all the neighbouring countries, but compromise will not be made on the solidarity and independence of the country.” "He said history would remember the sagacious policy of Prime Minister Imran Khan for peace in the region.
