‘Better transport for females in Punjab soon’
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Transport Jahanzeb Khan Khichi has said people especially females would be provided best facilities of public transport in the new Pakistan. He said no one would face transport difficulties as the government was committed to provide better means of communication to the people because transport system was a symbol of the civilised society.
The minister said this while talking to a delegation of transporters at his office. He asked the private sector to play role in the betterment of the public transport system. A respectable transport system depicts a welfare society and the government is committed to providing the best travel facilities to the citizens, he added.
He said the scope of the latest transport facilities would be expanded to all the districts because all the people had equal rights over such facilities. The citizens were provided the best transport service and free travel facility was also arranged for elderly citizens and handicapped by Lahore Transport Company.
