CDA chairman takes notice of trees’ cutting
Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed while taking notice of cutting of trees in two sectors of Islamabad has ordered action against the contactor.
Amer Ali Ahmed, who is also Chief Commissioner Islamabad, has directed registration of FIR and arrest of contractor namely, Ali Haider, for cutting trees in sectors H-9 and I-9.
The contractor, the CDA sources said, removed trees with permission of Director General Environment Mamzoor Shah. The contractor was awarded contract of cutting trees for Rs44,688 with permission of DG Environment. The concerned officials have also been directed to confiscate chopped down trees. The sources said strict action is likely against responsible officials. The environment wing falls under the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) but the permission letter bears title of CDA.
