VU Rector passes away
LAHORE : Dr Muhammad Abbas Chaudhry, a noted academician and Rector, Virtual University of Pakistan (VU), has passed away.
Dr Muhammad Abbas Chaudhry, a man of letters, was one of the most distinguished educationists of Pakistan. His sad demise is an irreparable loss for VU as well as scholarly and academic communities of Pakistan. In a press release issued here Friday, Virtual University of Pakistan mourned the sad demise of Prof Dr Muhammad Abbas Chaudhry. All staff and students expressed condolences on his sudden death and termed his demise a great loss for education sector in the country.
Meanwhile, in a press release, Dr Tariq Banuri, Chairman HEC on behalf of the higher education sector, has extended condolences on the sad demise of Dr Abbas Chaudhry. He appreciated services of Dr Abbas Chaudhry for higher education sector and prayed for the departed soul. It is pertinent to mention that Dr Muhammad Abbas Chaudhry was appointed
Rector VU in late January this year.
