Women’s respect integral part of norms: Punjab CM
LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that respect to women is an integral part of our socio-cultural and religious norms. The rights which have been entrusted to the women by Islam cannot be imagined in the West.
In his message issued here Thursday, the chief minister said that women make half of the total population in Pakistan and the PTI is committed to give them equal rights as no society could progress without including them in the process of development. The past governments did not take any positive step to include the women in the national mainstream but the incumbent government is fully committed to proactively perform in this regard. Solid steps are being taken to empower women and the PTI government will fulfil this responsibility in the best of the manner. The women will be provided equal opportunities to excel in practical field and they will be fully empowered as well. The women living in backward areas would be socio-economically empowered.
