LAHORE: Nishat Group Chairman Mian Mohammad Mansha said he is looking forward to invest in infrastructure in Afghanistan, as the current opportunities are an ideal occasion to cooperate and maintain peace in the region.
The statement issued Friday said Mansha visited Afghanistan on May 12 after President Ashraf Ghani’s invitation.
The chairman of Nishat group said the president of Afghanistan assured the MCB delegation led by him that the Afghanistan government will soon provide approval to open an MCB Branch in Kabul. He said meeting with Afghan leadership was to evaluate the progress on the development of talks held earlier where the expertise, efforts and commitment of Mian Mansha in various economic and development sectors in Pakistan were applauded by the Afghanistan government.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani hoped the initiation of investment in Afghanistan could turn into a symbol of economic cooperation between the two countries in the areas of banking, textile, cement, and energy.
