Three more fall prey to target killings in Quetta
QUETTA: Three people were killed and four others sustained injuries in a new wave of target killing in Quetta. Four armed persons riding two motorcycles opened fire on shops on the Jan Mohammad Road, killing three persons on the spot and wounding four others. The dead and injured were shifted to a hospital. The dead persons were identified as Waqas Khan, Bashir Ahmed and Ali Khan. The condition of one injured person is critical.
Security forces cordoned off the area after the incident and collected evidence from the crime scene. According to initial investigation, the assailants sprayed bullets at people in two shops from 10 to 15 feet range.
Police have found 14 bullet shells from the spot. They have termed the incident an act of terrorism. Meanwhile, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited Jan Mohammad Road Sunday where the target killing occurred.
He also observed the area and its surroundings and analysed the crime scene. Consequently, he ordered Balochistan IGP Moazzam Jah Ansari to submit report on the firing incident. The recent incidents of target killing are part of a conspiracy to spread anarchy, he added.
