NOWSHERA: Akhbar Faroosh Union and Akhbar Faroosh Federation has lauded the government decision of setting up a newspaper market.
Speaking at a protest rally of the Akhbar Faroosh Union in Shobra Chowk, Abdul Halim, Abdur Rehman, Muhammad Akbar and others thanked the station commander and district administration for taking interest in resolving an important issue of the hawkers.
They said Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had allocated Rs16.45 million for the hawkers of all the KP districts. However, they alleged the house where a newspaper market was being established had been illegally occupied. They said the house, allocated for setting up the newspaper market, was owned by the Communication and Works Department and had been under use of the present occupants for the last 30 years.
The speakers alleged that father of the present occupants had died 10 years ago but the family had not yet vacated the house and was not even paying any rent. The speakers said the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court had directed the subordinate courts not to issue stay orders against the government properties to avoid delay in construction work. They requested the sessions judge to consider their request and take action against the illegal occupation of the government property.
