Valuables, cash taken away
LAHORE : Robbers deprived people of their valuables including cash and gold ornaments and vehicles worth millions of rupees here on Saturday.
They took away valuables worth Rs 0.7m from the house of Imtiaz Ali in Nawab Town, valuables worth Rs 260,000 from the family of Ahmad Ali in Kahna, valuables worth Rs 0.1m from the family of Imtanan in Sattukatla, Rs50,000 from Junaid Khan in Nishtar Colony and Rs25,000 from Sadiq Ali in Faisal Town. Two cars were taken away in Mughalpura and Gulshan Ravi. Three bikes were stolen in Gujarpura, Qila Gujar Singh and Samanabad.
traffic assistants: A passing out parade of 250 newly recruited traffic assistants was held at Syed Ahmed Mobin Shaheed Police Lines, Manawan. CCPO Lahore Capt (R) Amin Wains was the chief guest at the ceremony.
Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad, SP City Asif Siddique, SP Sadar Sardar Asif, SP Operations Cantt Bilal Zafar and SP Headquarters Imtiaz-ur-Rehman were also present.
The CCPO supervised the parade and said, “After looking the standard and spirit of traffic assistants, I am hopeful that the newly recruited will play a vital role in the betterment of traffic system of the city”.
suicide: A 60-year-old man committed suicide by taking poisonous pills in Manga Mandi on Saturday.
He was identified as Faqeer Hussain of Chah Tamooli. He had got depressed after an exchange of harsh words with his family over a domestic issue and took poisonous pills.
ARRESTED: Raiwind City police arrested two proclaimed offenders involved in murder and robbery. The arrested were identified as Sadique and Sajid Hussain.
INAUGURATED: The CPO Lahore inaugurated a mosque, gymnasium and water filtration plant at Captain Syed Ahmad Mobeen Shaheed Police Lines Manawan on Saturday.
FIA: FIA officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport arrested a proclaimed offender. He was identified as Hassan Riaz a resident of Faisalabad. He arrived from Turkey.
Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Allama Iqbal International Airport Saturday arrested a passenger. Saddique Akbar of Charsada was deported from Turkey. FIA officials arrested two passengers at Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Saturday. Reportedly, Muhammed Afzal a resident of Sialkot was deported from Greece due to illegal stay. Khurram Shehzad a resident of Faisalabad, was deported from South Africa.
