PFF starts venue inspection to host national events

LAHORE: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has started the inspection of the venues going to host various national events.

As part of the process, its General Secretary Lt. Col (retd) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi visited Karachi to overview the arrangements of National Challenge Cup 2018 which will be played from April 20 to May 10and is to be participated by 24 teams. During his one day stay in Karachi, he toured All Brothers Football Stadium, Malir, one of the two venues selected to host the Challenge Cup matches.

He informed The News: “I am satisfied with the basic facilities available at the venue for holding the Challenge Cup matches.” He was accompanied by Shehzad Anwer, Technical Director PFF, Rahim Baksh Baloch, Secretary Sindh FA & Qamar Ali Qureshi, member of scrutiny committee for Karachi. They were welcomed at the venue by Shahid Taj, Secretary Malir District Football Association. He also briefed them about the arrangements. KPT is the other venue where the National Challenge Cup matches will be played. Before that, the scrutiny process of K-Electric, PIA, KPT, NBP, SSGC and Pakistan Navy was carried out smoothly in the first half of the day by the PFF Scrutiny Committee comprising of Shahzad Anwar (technical director PFF), Rahim Baksh baloch (Secretary Sindh Football Association) Qamar Ali Qureshi, Zahid Taj, Mohammad Asif & Ghulam Shabir.

The remaining teams including SNGPL, Police, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, PWD, Sindh Government Press, Gawadar Port Authority, SSGC, State Life Insurance and Civil Aviation Authority will be scrutinized on Wednesday at KPT Football Stadium.
