3rd Amir Ahmad Siddiqui Media Awards distribution tomorrow
PESHAWAR: The 3rd Amir Ahmad Siddiqui Media Awards would be given here on Saturday under the auspices of Khyber Union of Journalists.
According to a press release issued here on Thursday, a five-member judges committee headed by senior journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai finalized the winners of the competition at a meeting on Wednesday.
Trophies and cash prizes of Rs25,000 each will be given to the winners of awards under the categories of Urdu feature for the journalists of Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts other than Peshawar, best investigative story (English), best picture, best radio package, and best news TV package (cameraman and reporter).
In addition to that, a lifetime achievement award and another for rendering exceptional services in journalism in KP and Fata will also be given.
Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party Farhatullah Babar will be the chief guest and Rahimullah Yusufzai will preside over the ceremony.
The other judges of the committee included Ismail Khan, Resident Editor (Dawn-North); Shabina Ayaz, Resident Director, Aurat Foundation; Abdullah Jan, former president of Khyber Union of Journalists and Faizullah Jan, chairman, Mass Communication Department, University of Peshawar.
