Bombing on Afghan seminary protested
LANDIKOTAL: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Fata chapter, on Thursday staged a protest rally in Landikotal bazaar against the US recent bombing of a seminary in Kunduz province of Afghanistan that killed several children and teachers.
Scores of the JUI-F supporters and local activists marched in Landikotal bazaar and later gathered at the Bacha Khan Chowk. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-American slogans. Speaking on the occasion, JUI-F Fata secretary general Mufti Muhammad Ejaz, Maulana Saeed Anwar, Maulana Muhammad Omar Benuri and secretary information Qari Jehad Shah Afridi said that the US was involved spreading terrorism across the world.
Mufti Ejaz said playing a dirty game of so-called war on terror, the US had killed thousands of innocent people in Lybya, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan in the past few years. He said Pakistan should stop Nato supply as the fuel transported via Pakistan to Nato forces in Afghanistan was being used by the aircraft which bomb the homes of innocent Afghan citizens.
Maulana Muhammad Omar believed rulers of Pakistan and other Muslim states had failed to raise voice against the brutal killing of children in the Kunduz Madrassa bombardment. Maulana Banori asked the human rights international organizations and United Nation to investigate the Kunduz incident and force the US government to punish those involved in the incident. Speakers also threatened to stop Nato supply line in Landikotal if the US did not take action against the people who were responsible for the Kunduz carnage.
