Bannu bar elects new office-bearers

BANNU: Independent candidates Zahidul Haq and Arif Awan were elected president and general secretary of the Bannu Bar Association, respectively.
According to the results, an independent candidate with the support of Malgari Wakilan, the Awami National Party-affiliated lawyers’ forum, Zahidul Haq won the election by obtaining 139 votes, while his opponent Noorzada Wazir got 118 votes.
Another independent candidate, Arif Awan won the seat of general secretary by defeating Abdul Hafiz.
