PML-N attacks on 18th Amendment won’t be tolerated: Bilawal
SANGHAR: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while alluding to his political opponents said the party believes in Sufism but we need to separate "Peeri Mureedi" from politics. He was addressing the inauguration of a water project of 240 kilometer, at village Jamalabad in Thar, Sanghar, The PPP Chairman said at least 85 villages of Achro Thar of Sanghar district will benefit from this project.
He said the 18th Amendment is being sabotaged by PML-N government, warning that the PPP will be on the forefront of struggle against any conspiracy against the constitutional amendment. The PML-N's attacks on the 18th Amendment will not be tolerated, he added.
He said Sindh is facing actute water shortage and blamed the Indus River System Authority for not distributing water according to the provincial share. He alleged the federal government for its discriminatory attitude towards water distribution in Sindh.
He said the PPP has made extraordinary efforts for poverty alleviation and through its development programme has helped over 600,000 families. He said the PPP is well acquainted with the issues of the masses and has the potential to resolve them.
Referring to his opponents, he said the PML-N and the PTI wasted five years in fighting and did nothing for the public. He said the PML-N government is now trying to abolish the Benazir Income Support Program, which is benefiting thousands of women and it is the only project meant for empowering women.
He said some forces want to revive the PML-N but they will fail to do so. Bilawaal said the Ghotki by poll is reflective of the popularity of the PPP in the region. He said in the upcoming general election the PPP will win from Sanghar, as we are devoted to the poor, the labourer and the peasants. He said the PML-F enjoyed absolute political power in Sanghar for over 50 years but left Sanghar to the mercy of God. He said it is the PPP which launched people friendly projects like the modern hospitals, universities, schools, solar plants, and other projects.
