PDA to involve students in dialogue on nation-building
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has drawn up a plan to engage students of various colleges and universities in a dialogue to help them play a pivotal role in the reformation of the society.
It has also offering internship to the students with Rs 20,000 monthly stipend. According to a press release, the dialogue with the students will be titled “Role of Youth in Nation Building.”
Six universities and institutes have been selected as the partners. These are Institute of Management Sciences, Hayatabad, National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, CECOS University, Hayatabad, Institute of Computer & Management Sciences, Iqra National University, Hayatabad, and Qurtuba University, Peshawar.
The PDA has requested the educational institution to nominate 20 students for the dialogue, which will be launched on March 29 and end on April 6. “The participant students will be engaged in follow-up activities involving them in cleanliness campaigns, plantation drives, debate competitions, and sports galas, etc,” the statement said, adding, “Their efforts will be acknowledged through shields and certificates.”
The PDA will offer 50 internships to students and graduates of six institutions with monthly stipend of Rs 20,000 each. It sought lists of the shortlisted 50 students from the universities/institutes by April 5. “The selection will be based upon a written test conducted at the institutes and an interview at the PDA,” said the communique.
