Durrani asks PM to apologise for his statement against Senate chairman

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durrani has asked Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to tender an unconditional apology on his statement of accusing and insulting elected Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, warning that an elected PM from Punjab has sent out a wrong message to Balochistan.“It seems, unfortunately, more like a statement of a stooge than an elected premier, who is duty bound constitutionally to represent all federating units and take them along, most especially when he chooses his words to address someone from a smaller province and the most respected office of Senate chairman,” the former minister said in a statement here Sunday.

Durrani said the PML-N nourished and groomed in Army House of General Ziaul Haq, bloomed in Panama and now it has pitched itself to attack judiciary and constitution for the sake of imposition of ‘Sharifs dynasty’.

“Is this the treatment they were meting-out to Balochistan? Had the same house and members from Balochistan decide to vote for PML-N today, they would declare the same persons Sadiq and Ameen (honest) tomorrow,” he said, adding: “If the PM had the information and enough evidence of use of money or horse trading then why he remained silent on the crime? Did he or his government ever challenged the results or voting for election of chairman?”

Durrani deplored that at a time when the enemies of Pakistan like Modi were trying to disrupt peace with the acts of terrorism and violence inside Balochistan, the ruling PML-N was defaming and disgracing the Baloch leadership, which is highly condemnable.

He said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has become a toy to whims of Jati Umra. “The prime minister’s statement revived the ugly slogan of ‘idhar hum, udhar tum’ by demonstrating such hatred and venom thus stabbing solidarity of the country,” he went on to say. He demanded the PM to retract his statement forthwith and apologise to the people of Balochistan for making unjustified accusations against their representatives.
