ANP dissolves NYO’s organising committee
PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Tuesday dissolved the organising committee of the National Youth Organisation (NYO) for its failure to complete the organisational structure within two years.
However, sources in the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) told The News that the committee had been dissolved due to the NYO chairman Mohsin Dawar’s active participation in the PTM.
The sources said that the party leadership was not happy with Mohsin Dawar’s active role in the PTM.
The sources said that Mohsin Dawar would contact his friends and like-minded people to devise his future line of action.
Earlier, Bacha Khan Markaz, the headquarters of ANP, issued two separate statements of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan on the issue. It quoted him as saying that neither a party member nor a worker of a subordinate organisation could become member of another party or organisation or participate in such activities without the party’s permission.
It added that ANP was the true representative of Pakhtuns having a clear stance on national and international issues.
“The ANP is the most popular party of Pakhtuns. And adherence to the party’s constitution and policy is mandatory on all the party members,” the statement quoted Asfandyar Wali.
He said the ANP would continue to resolve the problems confronting Pakhtuns through democratic, parliamentary and civilised manner.”And we will defend their rights at all forums,” he asserted.
As the ANP president and central advisor of the National Youth Organisation (NYO), Asfandyar Wali announced new organising committee with Fakhruddin as its chairman.
Other members of the committee are Suleman Mandanr (Islamabad), Asmatullah Kakar (Balochistan), Omar Khattak (Sindh) and Palwasha Abbas (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).
The ANP President directed the new office-bearers to complete the reorganisation within two months.
