Excise cop shot dead by drug peddlers
BAHAWALPUR: Excise and taxation department’s cop Shehzad Rasool was shot dead by two drug peddlers Zaman and Nasrullah alias Laggi near Pansota Chowk in Chak 98 Fateh during a raid by excise and taxation team led by excise inspector Khalid Wattoo. After the death of just three months earlier recruited excise cop, the heirs of the deceased staged a protest demonstration outside theTHQ Hospital Chisthian and demanded registration of a murder case against excise inspector Khalid Wattoo and others who conducted the raid against the drugs pushers without informing the area police.
District police Bahawalnagar spokesperson inspector Asif Saeed while talking to this correspondent confirmed that the excise and taxation raiding team led by inspector Khalid Wattoo did not inform the Bukhshan Khan Police Station about the raid.
