Registration of cases recommended against six govt officials
GUJRANWALA: The ACE has approved registering cases against six government officers who are allegedly involved in using sub-standard material in development schemes.
On the complaint of DCO Mandi Bahauddin, the anti-corruption team have recommended taking action against Shaukat Mehmood, former DO Road Mandi Bahauddin; M Arshad, former DDO Road Sub-Engineer, Mudassar Nazir for installing sub-standard tuff tiles in main bazaar of the city. In another inquiry, allegations levelled against XEN TMA Mandi Bahauddin, ATO Khalilur Rehman, sub-engineer Adeel Shoaib and contractor Qaiser Ranjha were proved.
WOMAN CRUSHED TO DEATH: A woman was crushed to death by a speeding truck here at GT Road, Rahwali on Sunday. Reportedly, Bashiran, 45, of Radiala Warraich area was crossing the road when a speeding truck ran over her. She was being rushed to the hospital but she breathed her last in the way.
