Three killers of Careem driver arrested
Rawalpindi: The police, in a remarkable breakthrough, have arrested a three-member gang embroiled in killing of a Careem driver in an armed robbery in Nasirabad Monday night.
SSP (Operations) Mohammad Bin Ashraf when contacted told ‘The News’ that all three gangsters involved in the killing of 22-year-old Sajawal Ameer, have been arrested within 40 hours of the incident. He said that this was a remarkable achievement of the police.
SP (Potohar) Syed Ali Mehdi told ‘The News’ that a suspect identified as Sajid was nabbed first on forensic evidences, later, Sheraz and Parvaaz (Afghan national) were arrested on his identification.
Sajawal Amir was gunned down at Lakhu near Nasirabad Monday night on resistance during an armed dacoity. SP Syed Ali told ‘The News’ that the gangsters booked the online private cab near a Marriage Hall at Dhok Syedan Road for Lakhu where they tried to rob him but they opened fire when he resisted. The gangsters left him near Choor Chowk and ran away.
