Dr Sarfaraz retires as Director, Area Study Centre, UoP
PESHAWAR: Director Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar, Professor Dr Sarfaraz Khan retired from service on Wednesday.
Dr Sarfaraz Khan has been leading the Area Study Centre since 2009 as a director and initiating and developing research and dialogue on China, Russia and Central Asia region.
In his farewell speech at an event organised in his honour, Dr Sarfaraz Khan said the University of Peshawar would remain his central piece of thought and action for his remaining life.
He termed it the best place for teaching to earn a living, respect and glory.
The farewell event was attended by students and faculty members of the Area Study Centre, scholars and departmental heads. Notable among those present were Vice-Chancellor Islamia College University Prof. Dr. Habib Ahmad, former Vice-Chancellor, Bacha Khan University, Charsadda Prof. Dr. Fazlur Rahim Marwat , Registrar University of Peshawar Dr. Zahid Gul and the university’s Dean of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities Prof. Dr Minhajul Hassan.
The participants lauded the services of Dr Sarfaraz Khan for his services as an educationist and scholar.
Prof Dr Shabbir Ahmed has assumed charge as Director Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar.
