Man seeks protection
CHARSADDA: A man on Tuesday accused the local police of harassment and violating privacy and asked the higher judiciary to provide the family protection.
Speaking at a press conference, Ashfaq, a resident of Prang area, said that he was nominated in a first information report (FIR) in an exchange of fire with his rivals in which one Fakhre Alam was killed some 15 years ago.
The man said the rivals then torched his house. He said later he surrendered to the police and was acquitted by the Peshawar High Court in the case.
However, he said the police were conducting raids on his house on one or other pretext despite his acquittal by the court. He said that one of his rivals was in the Police Department and was using his influence and contacts to bother him and his family.
