Confrontation among state institutions harmful for country: Sherpao
CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) head Aftab Sherpao on Friday said that confrontation among the state institutions had created crisis-like situation in the country.
He was addressing a public meeting at Rajjar, where Jawad Ahmad Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced joining the QWP along with his supporters. "Confrontation within the state institution is very harmful for the country. Focus should be on one-point agenda of the 2018 general elections. It will be helpful in the continuation of the democratic process and stability of the system," he added.
He said that the government had announced new constituencies without consulting political parties, which had aired unrest for candidates and also have irked the masses. Sherpao said that good relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan were crucial for the regional security and fight against terrorism.
Mutual dialogues were the only solution to normalise the ties, he said, adding, both countries should touch upon cooperation and firm resolve to eradicate the unrest on both sides of the border. Aftab Sherpao said that his party was working for the protection of the rights of Pakhtuns.
