Two killed in Faisalabad accidents

FAISALABAD: Two people were killed in as many road accidents here. Amanullah was crushed to death when a dumper hit his motorcycle at Noorpur Chowk on Millat Road. In another incident, student Bilal Ahmad of Chak 4, Ram Dewali, was killed when a speeding rickshaw dashed into his motorcycle on Sargodha Road.

Condolence reference: A condolence reference for University of Agriculture Faisalabad Prof Dr Tahir Hussain was held at Iqbal Auditorium to commemorate his tremendous services in the area of teaching and agricultural research.

The session was presided over by UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar while Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Muhammad Amjad, former deans Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Institute of Soil Sciences Director Dr Javed Akhtar, Dr Ashfaq Chattha, Dr Anwarul Hassan, Dr Jibran Tahir, Dr Ashraf Randhawa, Dr Muhammad Saleem and others also spoke on the occasion.

The vice-chancellor said that the late professor had rendered commendable services to the agriculture sector and academia that would be written in golden words.

MAN ROBBED: A man was robbed of Rs 5 million here on Thursday.

Asif, manager of a Sheikhupura Road factory, was on his way after drawing the amount from a bank when dacoits intercepted him and snatched the same from him. Police are investigating the matter.
