Teacher nabbed for raping student

OKARA: A teacher was nabbed for allegedly raping his student here on Thursday. A widow, Shabnam Bibi, used to drop her 12-year-old daughter Amna at the house of tutor Umair at Latifabad. On Wednesday, Shabnam left Amna at his house and left. When she returned to get the key of her house from Amna, she found no one in the house. Later, she found Umair allegedly raping her daughter.

On seeing her, Umair fled the scene. Later, the widow got a case registered with the A-Division police. The girl told that Umair had allegedly raping her since long by pressuring her. He had not only filmed the incident but had also got her signature on a white paper. He had threatened the girl that if she told her secret to anyone, he put the video on the social networking site. Later, the police had arrested Umair. Charges would be framed after issue of MLC report of the girl.

20 INJURED: At least 20 devotees of Baba Fareed Ganj Shakar were severely injured when their coach turned turtle near Subhan Shah bus stop. A family of 25 members from Lahore was going to Pakpattan to pay homage to the renowned saint. The Rescue-1122 was informed about the incident, which shifted the injured to the hospital.
